A lot of people go to Goa this time of year to do nothing. I was there last year, in South Goa, most restaurants were closed, no parties, almost no hotels even open. I just hung with the locals, who had time to talk, and they showed me around, and we went on day trips etc, into the hinterland, around to other towns etc.
It was pretty nice, just not full on.

A lot of people go for the beach. There is a local bus which goes everywhere.
You can go on a cycle taxi to see the hinterland and around. There is a lot to see, away from the tourist stuff. The North gives the impression of a tourist town anywhere really, but there is so much more. A lot of things are closed, bu tthere are still general stores and a few restaurants.
I wasn't at the Leela, I was on a budget of 200 per day, but found a lovely guest house for 100 rupees per day.
They were happy to have me, and I got breakfast, which was great.
I really enjoyed just seeing where the bus took me.

I went on a really log bus ride, in the rain. It was great.
And sat on the beach eating ice cream, during a really big thunderstorm.
You can feel yourself living!!

Tracer,
For few days you may come down to Bekal beach in Kerala border, it is very nice beach not much crowded. You can get train services from Goa to Bekal. Kanhangad is the nearest railway station. So that you can have some experiences in Kerala also, thanks

It dies pretty much in Goa this time of year, and with the Global Downturn, and the new local laws, it 's a shadow of itself a few years back.
It might be a quiet time I think.

In South Goa there is even less to do than in North. Why don't you move to the new Taj Vivanta in Panjim. In Panjim there is a bit more action. Cavale in Baga has music evenings on Saturday and Thursday.
