Goa in 2nd week of October
Me and my husband are going to Goa in 2nd week of October.
Can we expect to have beach shacks and water sports(including scuba diving) during that time? |

Probably no..
Last season the shacks weren't up until the mid of November. As for watersports, perhaps a few activities but it is still probably too early for Scuba Diving. |

In todays Goan newspaper that the shacks are going to get their licences at the end of Sept this season due to the lack of tourists there .

Well shacks are being put up on Mojim beach now so i read somewhere today. But they want to close shacks at 11pm every night now .
Doesnt bother me about 11pm closing as if i spend a time on a shack in the day time i dont want to go there at night as well but 2 weekers like to stay late on the shacks at night.I can see baga shacks charging for sunbeds this season . |

Hi,
I am also going to be in Goa second week of October with my mum and sister (prob 7th to the 13th) and could do with some advice re. where to go in the south. I was wondering about Palolem or Agonda and am wondering a) what they're like this early in the season as will want to be near a couple of restaurants/ bars/ shops and b) whether they're likely to be appropriate for my mum (or only for a younger party crowd?) She's 60 and although she doesn't need luxury accommodation/ total quiet, we want a chilled out time (some yoga/ massage, good food, nice beach & friendly bars etc. ) So I'm keen to avoid anywhere too packed & loud or anywhere she's going to feel out of place for being over 35! I hear Palolem's quite mobbed so was thinking about Agonda or Patnem BUT as its mid October I thought maybe even Palolem will be reasonably chilled out and pre-party season? Any advice on good choices much appreciated! |
