Goa - first week in December

I arrive in Goa on Nov 30th and will spend one week. I am wondering if I need to book in advance for a beach hut and whether the christmas rates will be in effect or not. Thanks for your help.

It would be just before the peak but i would recommend a booking....its a crazy month for Goa..

As for Christmas rates , that should be mentioned on the site of the hotel you eventually book..

Goa is over for parties

Its over in Goa. Govt stopping all parties forever. They closed Club Cubana the best club and now also other ones. They will not permit trance places and are planning to shut every sort of music place.

demellolster,

As per the times of india link you posted they are closing club Paradiso due to a land of dispute. Why would Goa Govt close all parties??
They cannot afford to close every sort of music places...It will affect tourism after all!

What you say is partially true. The problem is that there have been several public interest litigations before the High Court in Goa regarding playing music after 10pm and as a result the judiciary has cracked down hard on any establishment playing music open air after 10pm.

The very basic concept of "parties" in Goa was loud techno music being played open air but this is no longer possible due to the orders from the High Court.

To play loud music late at night these days in Goa is only possible indoor in a sound proof room which is basically what Tito's amd Mambo's are but then again if you want to listen to loud music in a sound proof room then there is no need to come all the way to Goa. You can get a far better experience at for example Elevate in Noida which is far superior to any indoor disco in Goa.

I guess the 10pm deadline is prevalent in most parts of India.

I am visiting Goa this November with my wife for my first wedding anniversary and had shorlisted Club Cubbana(hoping it would open this year)and Club Paradiso as two important night outs during our stay around the Vagator/Anjuna area.Guess it will be a "quiet" holiday out there!
