Goa during October

Hi all,

My family and I plan to stay in Goa (Palolem) from late september to late October. We already paid for the international flights.

I have heard that during this time most of the guesthouses and resturants are closed and the beach itself is not very clean due to the monsoon storms.

Has anyone been there at this period and could advise if it is worth going to Goa or maybe we should change our destination?

Hi, we went to Goa for 2 weeks last year...last week of September and first week of October..WE did not stay in Palelom..however wanted to stay in a beach hut there and we couldn't find one opened yet...

So we stayed in Candolim....for the full 2 weeks...That was our 3rd trip to Goa, and our first during monsoon..There is not alot open...No beach shacks, the beach was dirty (at least in Candolim)...Not alot of restaurants are open either nor are the little shops.

For us, we have friends in Goa, so we had a wonderful time and really enjoyed ourselves as there were barely any tourists, and everything was soo lush...

Alot of days it was cloudy and heavy rain was mostly in the night and some days it cooled off, but some days were very humid..

We did alot of things in Panjim as most things are open there..We also went to the Wildernest Resort for a few days...

So maybe stay the first 2 weeks somewhere else, and then come to Goa for your last 2 weeks..
