Four in one day is an awful lot. However if you read the post of a highly qualified lifeguard - 45 people drowned in one day in 2006.
Indeed a few year back I was in Anjuna when a boat overturned killing 20 odd Indians 300/400mtrs offshore. Very tragic indeed.But the Arabian sea has strong currents and rip tides. Therefore sad as it is people do drown in Goa. Morjim is has many diverse currents and is meeting place of the sea and the vast mouth of the Chapora river. Just ask local fishermen... |
