Harder to find out than you might think, yes.
http://www.gapadventures.com/tour/AHGF Would seem to suggest Feb. 12-14th, may just be the highlight of it tho' (they mention three days in any case). Inasmuch as it precedes Lent, and hence Easter I think, you could try and find out when those are by way of an indication.

Thank you machadinha. Meanwhile I found another site suggesting a different date for Goan carnival. It says from Feb 17th-20th. Maybe it´s not agreed yet.
http://www.vacationsindia.com/festivalcalander.html Hey patti123, nevermind. Goa will be fun anyway, not matter what festivals proceed whilst I stay there. I was just curious. |

York Stiller.Your right about Goa being fun even if you miss it.I have just been talking to my friend who has now managed to book a apartment next to mine. And now that the visa situation is settling down i cant wait to go.
Shame about the sun bed rule but maybe its a rule that can be broken. |

If it corresponds at all to when other countries' Carnival celebrations are, it will be somewhere in the vicinity of Feb 7 this year. Usually it's the lead-up to Ash Wednesday, which falls on Feb. 8th in '08.

This will be an open door to any catholic, however Easter and everything surrounding it varies per year, just thought I'd mention it. That is to say it doesn't follow the Gregorian calendar or what's it called.
From what I've been reading the Goan carnival has its own rites, however I'm sure those dates would give you some indication. |
