Goa "beachside" accomodation?
I'm heading out to goa in a week and im looking up places to stay. I really want to have a beachside room, where by beachside I mean literally on the beach with nothing between my room and the ocean but sand - no palm trees, no beach shacks, nothing. Can anybody suggest some places? I'm looking ideally to be in Calangute beach (Well ideally would really have been Palolem but I'm afraid that its going to be too dead given its off season, and so I'm just heading to the most popular beach)
Most of the hotels/resorts I can find seem to be 100 meters more inland that I would have liked. Is this because of some goan law that prohibits hotels closer to the sea? |

Try San Francisco beach huts, Get away beach huts, high tide beach huts....etc. at Palolem.
Chattai beach huts - google for them, you should get info. |

Chattai is quite nice from the pics of it. Do you know of anything similar that is on the north beaches?

There are no beach huts in June.......monsoon! Rains will start in a few days. The sea is very high.

Another cheaper option is Goa Tourism's Calangute Residency(http://www.goa-tourism.com/project_d...asp?id=21#test) which is also located right on the beach but they do not have a pool and other facilities provided by Goan Heritage. |

This is because of the Government of India regulations which stipulate that a hotel has to be 250 meters inland away from the high tide line. This rule came into effect in 1991. Hotels built before 1991 have been exempted from this regulation. Some of the hotels in Calangute and Candolim which were built earlier on are very close to the beach.

hi guys,
Can some body recommend a beach side hotel in Baga. I am reaching there tomorrow. Budget Rs. 1200per night for a twin. I just want to be able to look at the monsoon - sea from my room window. Dont' even mind being on first floor, till the sea is visible
