Goa Beaches... What's the best. Now Fight!
What's your favorite beach you've visited near Goa fairly recently? Crowded with lots of fun people to meet, or nice and quiet?

Ha. It was a joke about how passionate people might get about their favorites vs. others. Guess it was just confusing though. My b.

Not the best beaches at any location.
Package tourism has blown Goa for mine, beach conditions and all. Even in the mid-90s it was still cheap and sort of manageable. The Arambol guest house I used to frequent has tripled prices in the last 4-5 years, and the local merchants and service people have become seriously avaricious. Where to from here for Goa? |

agonda
agonda has to be my favorite. it isn't incredibly beautiful, but it is less spoiled than the rest...at least till last year. and the mahnamahnas is a great place to stay.

I stayed at a resort on Calangute beach this year and I liked it a lot. Though I was there in September 2007, when the season is yet to kick in and cannot say how crowded it is during the tourist season.

i stayed at arambul, in november,(years ago) and i had the lake to myself for a month and then the masses started turning up. i think, to be there off season with a short but sweet taste of the party season is the way to go...unless of course you are a party animal.
goa was a magic place, just for itself and the great market they used to have at mapsa but arambul was very special! |

Best for what?
frisbee? sunbathing? partying? surfing? windsurfing? peace and quiet? children? service? sun? shade? I'm sure Palolem is best for something, just nothing I've thought of yet. |

For me it has to be Agonda, Mobor and Varca, all in the South.
