Wink Goa Beaches for middle aged couples

Hi, can anyone help us decide which Goa beach to go to next year from 10th October 2009 until about 21 October 2009.We are Australian and we enjoy the beach, like a bit of nightlife,a few drinks, shoping, and having lunch and dinner at beachside restaurants and bars. We would prefer going to a place where there are other middle aged couples and families. We like staying right near the beach like in beach huts with their own bathrooms. All responses will be appreciated.

Patnem is a lot quiter and minus any nightlife, its just 15 minutes walk from Palolem so you can either stay at Palolem and go for a swim to Patnem or stay at Patnem and go for nightlife to Palolem.

Patnem and Palolem don't really attract alot of middle-aged couples. Mostly a young backpacker crowd there. Benaulim on the other hand gets a steady share of middle-aged package kind of tourists. And theres many shops there. And 2 km. along the beach is Colva which has many shopping places also.

Patnem has a lot of middle aged holiday makers who come back every year. It has beach huts and decent places to eat. The sea is shallow out to about 10 meters from the shore and as others have noted Palolem is just a short walk, if you want something different.
