Goa at the end of April and May, What's it like?

I was thinking of going back to Goa via Mumbai sometime at the end of April into May. Anybody go to Goa that time of year? I was partied out this Xmas and would like to relax more and see more of Goa with maybe a little parties thrown in I also should of made it down to Palolem to see friends at Xmas but was to busy in Anjuna to get down there Whats Palolem like in April/May.

Getting hotter. Can be quite uncomfortable in May as humidity rises pre mid June monsoon onset. Drink more cold and move more slowly.....

unbearable in may - that was my experience. had to flee my usual sea view cottages to the relative comfort of taj holiday village (not sure it exists anymore). air-con and pool saved the day.

May is bad , very hot in the sun.

Last time I went in May, I stirred out of the hotel and it's beach* once.

* and only early am and late pm visits there.

I understand where you are coming from guys. I have been to Thailand in May and it's red hot there and i to had to move more slowlyI can put up with the heat but what i am getting at is. Will there be people there? Not completly dead. Still enough backpackers there? People to mingle with? I partied enough at Xmas so thats not really on the agenda. Just one or two small parties would do me. Are the beach shacks still up at palolem ?The best thing about end of April and May is it's cheaper to get there and cheaper digs. I just don't want to be like Tom Hanks in Castaway

Its not so much the heat its the humidity ! Its unbearable in May . And as always Goa never has any electric ,and that makes it worse as its too hot to go out too hot to stay in.
I was there in May last year, never again .

Aril-may is hot but it's not unbearable if your sitting in a restaurant on the beach under a roof. Nights can be sticky to sleep, unless you have a/c.

And there will be travelers in Palolem then. Lot's of Indian tourists also.

Last May was unbearable even the locals said it was hotter than they have ever known it. I went to the beach but hardly any shacks are open and then i didnt want to lay on the beach.
Palolem it depends on when the shacks close down for the season as to if there are going to be people there.Charter flights have stopped coming into Goa by May.
If it wasnt for the humidity i would have stayed longer than the 21st May. I was so pleased when i booked my flight out.
