just behind all the madness of vagator there's an amazing restaurant called "Sharewood", its on the road between big vagator and chapora (the one furthest from the beach). the tables are all in little treehouses in a large wooded area + really excellent french food. definitely my restaurant of the 2005 season

Just returned from Varca (Club Mahindra). First time to Goa. Never knew beaches in India could be really this good. Fairly deserted in the morning. Not much crowd in the evenings.

As far as beaches go (no pun) there cant be anything more secluded than kerim beach Period
Palolem is a goner. If seclusion is the only aim head outside Goa. Maybe beaches in Maharashtra or Karnataka. |

Goancanuck.
I visited that site and it looks awesome! Do you know anything about the place or know anyone who has been there that could comment. they don't seem to mention anything about prices and meals etc. Surprised by that. I have emailed them , hope they reply. Any idea how to get to the place from Colva? ![]() |

Doofus, the rates for Wildernest Nature resort are,
Forest View Cottage: Rs. 3,000 per couple, per night Valley View Cottage: Rs. 4,000 per couple, per night You have to take a taxi to go to this place. From Colva the taxi should cost you about Rs 2500-3000. To reduce this cost you can take a local bus from Margao to Sanquelim and then take a taxi from there to the resort. The only other alternative is to hire a motorcycle in Colva and head off. Should take you about 2-2.5 hours by motorcycle although you will have to be careful because the roads in that part of Goa are not good due to the fact that it is a mining area with heavy lorries moving around. |

When were you last at the Wilderness Resort. I had an email from them this morning and they have more or less doubled their prices from the ones you posted. Still considering going though but am concerned as to how to get their safely and within budget. regards, Pete ![]() |

Doofus, the prices that I posted were valid last year. They may have jacked up the prices but make sure you bargain hard. What happens is that when you contact one of these hotels from abroad they tend to give you the full blown rate which is usually not what most people pay.

Just a few questions about that resort. Have you actually stayed at the resort? I was wondering if you could look at their web site you gave and let me know what you think. the prices quoted do include almost evrything from all meals to guided tour etc. Was that your understanding when you quoted the prices? I have been in contact with them via email. I asked them about transport from Colva. they said that as we were thinking of spending three days(2 nights) at the resort then they will provide complimentary transport in both directions. I still would love to hear from anyone who has actually stayed there to let us know what they think. regards, Pete ![]() |
