Goa - Any IMers there From Jan 16 to 21st
Hi ,
I'll be in Goa from Jan 16th to 21st. I intend to split my time mostly between Arambol and Palolem. A day in the hustle and bustle of Callangute and a Day in Mojim might complete the Goa Holiday for me. Any IMers in Goa that time, maybe we could meet up. Styler P.S Doc you have any idea about the room situation at God's Gift in Arambol that time. Could you give me the numbers there.... Last edited by Styler : Jan 7th, 2007 at 20:11. |

I'm going to Goa alone after a long time.
I just want to relax with no phone calls and no busy city schedules, read books, swim, get time to think a lot of things, recharge, refresh and have a great time. I'm thinking what would be the best place - Arambol- Agonda Patnem - Morjim or Palolem. Anybody has a recommendation for a quiet place in any of these places, that would be just right for me ? At this time of year Arambol and Palolem will likely be heaving with people and all the attendant noise that brings!!
There's a wonderful little rocky cove between Palolem and Patnem called Colomb which might suit you down to the ground. A peaceful little spot, with some haf decent rooms for rent. There's a shop and a couple of restaurants and both Palolem and Patnem beaches are within easy walking distance!! Plenty good places to eat around here, the local places do some basic fare like Fish curry rice, paw bhaji, veg thalis and the like. In Chaudi the next village inland there's a Udidpi restuarant that does good basic "meals" batata vadas, dosas and samosas. Tea's not bad either. Both patnem and Palolem beaches have loads of restaurants worth trying for seafood and the like, not cheap though. If you have transport I recommend the Annapurna Resturant near the petrol station on the N17, it's where the locals gor for their fish!! At the crossroad Chaudi, Margao, Palolem, there's a great little breakfast and snack place coming from Margao there's a a place called the Mangalore which does excellent north Indian veggie meals!! 100 meters before the crossroads! Agonda is another good choice if you would like long stretches of sand to walk along!! Try the fish curry rice at Doris's!! Stay at the north end of the beach for that Goan village feel!! |

Thanks Cyberhyppie,
The places you describe sound exactly like the places where i want to be. I have already printed out your post and put it into my travel bag. I will post my experiences once i get back. goagirlwannabee, I will go to palolem and arambol for a couple of days after i am recharged. Italian food at Felini and the Romantic Aura of Arambol cannot be missed. Calangute & Baga are out of my goa travel book for this trip though. Thanks for all the suggestions. Styler |
