Goa, alone, in the monsoon!
Hey guys,
I'm heading to Goa on the 5th July, and will be in India until the 20th August. I'm staying in Vagator when I arrive, then hope to head to other places in Goa and then down to Hampi for a few weeks. I don't care about the rain - I have a backpack full of books to get through! I'm just looking to enjoy some good food, see some sights, and chill out. Does anyone have any recommendations for monsoon-friendly things to see, any hints and tips, or is anyone going to be around during the same time!? Many thanks! Matt |

Go to the churches of Old Goa, the temples of Ponda and ride a bike down the coast.

Post on here when you arrive if you need to check on anything.
I am English and live in the nearest big village to Vagator, Siolim. As you will find out in a couple of days, its very wet and very deserted here. At the least I can swap some books with you? I really wish when people ask on here for things to do they would give some idea of age/interests, it would really help............... |

Thanks guys, appreciate the replies! Thanks Johnny, and yeh I have about 25 books that i'll be ploughing through in my first couple of weeks and you're more than welcome to them when i'm done.
I'm 22, and really have no preference as to what I see. I'm not one of those who is just about beaches, or architecture, or temples or whatever. I really just want to appreciate as much of the place and culture as I can in the short time I have there. Thanks for your offer of help, and i'll check back if I need anything once I arrive! Matt |

Thanks for clarifying, hope you can see my point, you could have been 16 or 60, a headbanger or a headcase? Lots of natural beauty around (where the Goans are not building on it)............so enjoy your reading and culture immersion! |
