Thanks GoanCanuck. I thought they both had prices displayed. Would have been better if the stand outside moved into the terminal. If it wasnt for these boards, I would surely have gone to the inside counter. Do the outside counter have cars other than fiat/ambassadors. Looking for a comfy ride to thivim with wife and infant. can you suggest a good car that i can ask for with ample space for luggage. |

Fiats and Ambassador cars are virtually extinct in Goa. They are no longer used as taxis. Most of the cabs in Goa are Maruti vans but you can ask at the counter for a bigger vehicle. Of course you will pay more for that.

Some hotels like the Fort Aguada offer free shuttle buses for airport pick up/drop off.

The prices are still the same and up to date for 2009 and for the foreseeable future.
These prices are a guide for white taxi's (who can charge what they like), but are 'fixed' for yellow/black taxi's which are required to do the 15rs a kilometre. If they don't find a policeman! ![]()

goa taxi
I am going to arrive into Dabolim Airport in 45 minutes. That photo with the prices was incredibly helpful.
Would anyone have tips on how to get to Cochin from Patnem beach. I am a woman on her own so cheap, overcrowded buses are unfortunately not an option. |

We used the counter inside the airport when we arrived by mistake. I had a feeling there was something wrong because of the lack of queue (I even asked the chap behind the window if it was the official pre-paid taxi counter and he said "yes" and pointed to their sign which says it's backed by the Indian gov. etc.)
If we'd been a little more awake we'd have walked outside and saved ~R300. Can't complain about the service, driver took us straight to out hotel, aircon worked fine and the taxi was spotless. We also had the fun of watching him pick up a R200 fine for not wearing his uniform. My advice: Walk outside & save some money. |
