The prepaid booth inside the terminal building charged us 1100 non a/c to go to Candolim. A couple of years ago it was 675.

Apart from airport transfers we hardly ever use taxis.

I just searched this thread for 'prepaid' and found at least half a dozen posts saying to use the booth outside the terminal!

If only people would read a few pages of a tread instead of saying something like " this may have been asked before but..." or " I don't have time to look, but can anybody tell me......"

Anyway thanks ......

But only in rupee terms.

The exchange rate at the time of compiling was rs80 to 1, now it is rs99, so a very easy exchange conversion,

They, is he.............. Rob produces all this stuff out of the goodness of his heart, on his own, in his spare time after caring for slum kids in Goa all day everyday. He just got caught out by the rupee in free-fall.

Was simply pointing out that foreign currency would go a bit further this year

Exclamation Important notification.

It appears that the new International Terminal at Dabolim has finally been opened............ months late, but no surprise there.

It also appears that it is nowhere near finished and chaos is likely.... no surprise there either

Part of that chaos involves pre-paid taxis, 2 different taxi unions are likely to be in dispute...... no su ..... (etc etc)

It also appears that they will each be given separate counters INSIDE the new terminal, so all previous advice on this thread may (or may not) be useless.

Suggest approaching the situation with caution, double check prices at all (or any) counters, and please report back on this forum with actual situation, which will probably change on a daily basis.

From the same newspaper

"Taxi drivers threaten Feb 24 strike if Olacabs gets govt nod
Published on: February 20, 2014 - 01:56"

Quote:
PANAJI: In protest against any consent to non-Goan taxi company to set shop in the state, taxi drivers have threatened to go on a one-day strike on February 24.

Members of the community said that they are united against the entry of an outside player and will go off the road for a day if the government does not clear its stance on Olacabs, a company which is seeking to come to Goa, within 48 hours.

Declaring that they are totally opposed to Olacabs or any other cab service, presidents of the North Goa Tourist Taxi Owners Association (NGTTOA), South Goa Tourist Taxi Owners Association (SGTTOA) and Federation of Tourist Taxi Owners Association (FTTAG) on Wednesday announced that 7,000 taxis including the cabs in the airport, are a part of the strike call decided in an emergency meeting in the morning. The entry of any company from outside will eat into their livelihood, they said...

From March 2013

http://www.poipleshadow.com/Goa-Taxi-Airport-Price-List

Also rates from Mapusa, Thivim and Margao

For rates from Calangute, think of a reasonable figure and treble it
