Goa---Accomodations?

Hello all,

First off, Id like to say this is a very informative forum! Ive been lurking for a week now and have learned quite a bit about Goa. A few mates and myself are planning on coming down during new years eve..should be a blast based on what Ive read. We are in our mid twenties, and looking to stay near the touristy area of Baga. I have heard from a friend that the Goan Beach Club Monterio is an awesome place to stay. Does anyone have any idea or a lead as to how I can book a place there? If not, does anyone have any other recommendations are to where we can stay? We something nice and clean, and of course safe. A villa or apartment would be ok too, but would need to sleep 6-8 people.

Finally, how far is Arpora from Baga/Calangute? There seems to be quite a few newer apartments to rent in this area--

TIA,

diup

Hi, and welcome to IndiaMike.

Answers may not be readily forthcoming as your questions fall in the oft-asked category.

Have you searched around this site, or its Goa sub-forum or Hotels Section?

That hotel of yours is readily found on the web, if this is the one: http://www.club.royal-holiday.com/in...eso rt&id=168 , so I suppose you should enquire with them about bookings. All I know is be early if you can anywhere in Goa for XMas/New Year's.

I can hep you find a booking at RGBC moterio. It is private members club. Apart from moneterios, RGBC also owns another 4 reasorts there and they are all good. Know somebody who owns villas/timeshare weeks in such resorts and rents it out. I had once taken their services.

Arpora is the village adjoining Baga just a little inland. The RGBC in Monteiro is not very good. Avoid it.

^^Thanks for the tips. If not monterio, what are some suggestions as to where to stay? A friend has stayed at the monterio recently and had nothing but good things to say.

There are tons of places depending on how much you want to spend. From Rs 50/night all the way to Rs 50,000/night is available.

The rules of this forum prohibit its members from participating in commercial activity otherwise I would have posted the details right here but there are tons of 1 bedroom apartments available in Calangute and Baga. If you book two 1 bedroom apartments you can comfortably accommodate 6 adults.
