There's a link below to a thread explaining waitlists, but it doesn't mention much about Tatkal.
In general, Tatkal waitlists don't move much at all because people only booked a couple of days ahead so are unlikely to cancel.
Train, class, boarding station, destination station, date of travel and full waitlist details are needed to estimate the chances of a waitlisted ticket getting confirmed, if you supply your PNR number (if you've already bought a ticket), we can get all the details from that.

Please read my reply.
I feel like a fool for having to explain this to an Indian, but here goes.
WL 19 in 1AC = more chance of winning the lottery
WL 19 in Sleeper Class = very good chance of getting confirmed.
the above is based on travelling the full length of a train's journey, any variations complicate things massively, eg, Agra-Varanasi in Marudhar Express, WL 2 in 2AC has no chance really, because only 2 berths are used for that sector.

I am having the same problem. What class should I chose to be waitlisted on?
there are 72 waitlist on sleeper, 12 waitlist on teir 3, and 3 waitlisted on teir 1 and 2??
on the following train
Maru Sagar Exp (12977)
Eranakulam Jn - Madgaon
19:50-->11:20
