Favorite 5 Star resort?

After a months of travels in the future, im hoping to take 4-5 nice days to relax before another month of tough travels.

Has anyone stayed at any of the 5 star beach resorts? If so can anyone recomend one that may have a younger crowd?(hell im not young anymore so I always think right around my age is young. What i mean is 25-30ish?)

Thanks

-Dan

Where in india? I have stayed at the Fort Aguada and Leela Palace in Goa. For relaxing on the beach, the Leela is better.

The 5 star hotels in Goa don't typically attract a young crowd. Most of the people staying at these resorts are either families or older business travellers. These hotels are in fact quite boring with not much to do especially during the monsoon. The Marriott hotel in Panaji is a little better because it has a casino and a nightclub.

Thanks.. Yeah I understand, wasn't thinking about the fact that most young travelers dont have $400 to spend per night.

So which are the hot spots for the younger crowds? Or do most of them rent homes?

The younger crowd typically tends to stay long term so what they do is 3-4 of them get together and rent a old Goan house in Anjuna, Vagator or Arambol. Usually they rent the house for the entire season which makes it quite cheap about Rs 20,000 for 6 months. These houses of course are very basic in the amenities that they provide but it gives the younger tourists the privacy that they want.

Go to The Regent in Chiang Mai.

Else fly out to Mauritius since Chiang mai is not on a beach.

In India, there are heaps of luxury resorts in Goa - possibly the ones from the Taj group are the best.

errrr....even the website doesnot claim any of their hotels as "five-star'. Did you have the Taj group's "Fort Aguada Hermitage" in mind?

Goa- Cida De Goa i had a great stay. gud view..gud food..great dancers ...
Shimla i stayed at Clark Oberoi ...had gud time ..
Mumbai Oberoi.. .
I am sure u dont want the complete list .... but onething I felt is that, we should have food outside this 5 star, to get the feeling of that particular place..
All 5 stars some way or the other have the same feeling..same taste..
So last time wen i visited banglore i had stayed at a small ( not very small though) resort near Baneergatta national park. Had great time of swimming\lawn tennis..gud food..comfortable stay..and ofcourse gud for our pocket too ..( this bangalore trip wasnt a company paid trip )
Have a great time

I stayed at the TAJ GARDEN RETREAT in CHIKMAGALUR. Pure heaven.

If you are doing the Bangalore - Hassan - Halebedu - Belur - Hampi, trip; Chikmagalur is a stop over.
