Lightbulb Do you think there will be sunbeds next year.

The daily papers are continuing their stories about the demolished on shacks and taking away sunbeds.
We witnessed this in March on Candolim beach, the police were extremely heavy handed like a lady wrote on www.tripadvisor.co.uk
Goan thread.
"Shack Demolished at Cavelossim". This ladies parents were at Sam's shack when on Sunday the police/military were in full gear, guns, machettes and shields. Plain clothes police apparently "hacked Sam's shack" and told everyone to get off their sunloungers.

Do the Goan Tourist Board really expect Tourists to put up with this behaviour. Illegal shacks, yes taken them down, but in a proper manner to do this.

I no nothing of this particular incident. But, typical the govt gives fair warning a number of times before such drastic action is taken. However, by operating until the last minute and having the govt do the tear down, the business owner maximizes profits and saves himself the trouble of dismantling the shack. This is India.

Hi Crvlvr - a friend emailed me to-day to read
the terrible things happened on the beaches in Goa. Shacks being pulled down, fridges thrown around etc. etc. Police with Machettes terrifying the tourists.
Have a look at http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk
Goa thread.
Reading this on a Holiday site I do not think tourists will be flocking to Goa next season. So sad
