Diving in Goa

Hi friends! Does anybody know if is it possible (and nice) to dive in Goa, and where can I find the diving structures? Or is the place worthwhile for relaxing on the beach only?
I am trying to re-organise my trip to Maldive and South India after the terrible disaster of the last days, and I have finally decided to move the planning to North India with an extension in Goa, so I would like to know if I can try to make some diving anyhow. It would be very nice to experience India underwater as well!

Goa is not an ideal place for scuba diving because the water is murky and visibility underwater is very poor. The only places in India suitable for scuba diving are the Andaman and Nicobar islands and the Lakshdweep islands. Gianni, diving in Goa can definitely be considered a good option if one cant make it down to Lakshwadeep or Andamans.
Barracuda Diving and Goa Diving are great professional dive shops...the first located in the Marriot in Miramar and the other close to the airport in Dabolim.

If you're lucky and the wind is holding down, you can get decent viz(dont expect crystal clarity like Lakhshwadeep etc). There's "Suzy's Wreck " off the Bat Island and a couple of good reefs to check out.
