Many thanks for any advice you can give!
Not over Christmas.....a few people tried this last year and ended up sleeping in a beach bar.

Hi drewsky,

if Calangute is all right with and you want to stay in a decent family run hotel with only a few rooms, try out cocobananagoa.com. Maybe Walter&Marina can help you out ,and if not they surely will find a place for you somewhere else. E-mail them and 24 hours later you´ll be answered for sure.

And it is right on the beach. Stayed there last year and was surprised that you could still find silence on the candolim - baga stretch. A bit expensive for most people though!

Drewsky, looks like you are not eligible to send and receive PMs because you are a new member. I do not want to post my email address here because it is going to get a lot of spam.

Capt. Mahajan if you are reading this please send my email address to Drewsky.

Mod note

Just to let you folks know, moderators cannot send PMs either to new members.

What we can do is infract people with the email address in the text of the message; you can understand that we don't want to use this system too often; It is messy and also defeats trying to maintain your security and privacy.

So, sorry, but I (as just one moderator) just don't feel comfortable doing this any more.

Sorry Captain. I was under the impression that the moderators had extra privileges which would enable them to over ride the restrictions faced by the regular members.

Now I am in a quandary on how to help new members.

No worries all..

Luca I am going to check that place out..

I have some great indian friends from Delhi that have rooms. Last year some of them arrived on Christmas and found a few last minute places.

I am taking my good luck spirit and go with the flow attitude for this leg of the trip!!

Have some great adventures out there!

Hey folks,

Yeah I'm planning to improvise regarding accomodation over Christmas in Goa too... Surely there will be places available at the last minute...

I've slept on quite a few a beaches in my time so it might not be the worst thing (bring on horror story) in the world at the end of the day.

confused!

I would like to stay in Palolem - travelling on my own and looking to book a Chattai beach hut. I dont mind noise and music but I do mind if its dirty. Anyone had a very recent experience. Also is 1000-2000 what youd expect to pay for this sort of accomodation in early Jan? Cheers for any help,

Thumbs down

I've read a bad report about the Chattai in Palolem in a review - (there's now one at Agonda too.) Seems to relate to very sloppy service.
