Colva or Benaulim with family?

Hi there my family will be arriving in Margao on an o'night train from Kerala in the morning in mid November. Originally we were intending to stay in the Northern beach areas but I am now thinking about heading to the Southern beaches area nearby. I am not sure whether to stay in Colva or Benaulim for about 5 nights. Any suggestions?

We are not particularly set on being in a western resort as my wife is Indian but our 3 kids are 7,8 and 10 so would probably appreciate a swimming option. Our budget is 1500-2500 a night, should I book something or just head there as we arrive first thing in the morning anyway?

Comments and suggestions are really appreciated.

Benaulim is quiet as compared to Colva.
Mid November is not exactly peak but also not off season.
One thing is good for you. You will land up in Goa after Diwali (Peak Season) & before December (again peak season).
I Think with three kids better to book for at least one night & then search for better options.
Here is a link for Benaulim beach stay option.

As you're coming from Margao, you can stay with the taxi and look at both. they are only 10 minutes apart.
