Hi

We are going for the YHAI goa trek this dec 25th and I would like to know of a cheap way to travel from the airport to Campal,Panaji.

The Prepaid taxis report as 480Rs in the previous threads.

Is there any other cheaper options for willing people ?

Hi

just come out of the airport to the mainroad and take a bus to the next crossing (the one going towards vasco) and from there you would get a bus to Panaji bus stand. From Panaji take another bus for Campal (those going to Miramar or Dona Paula). Hope that helps

Is there no bus from the airport gate, direct to Panaji? And are there any buses going via Miramar?
Also, is there a bus from the airport to Margao?

About Margao I am not so sure but there is no direct bus for either Panaji or Miramar, you need to change buses. IMO it is somewhat deliberate to help the taxis

I think Goa has a transport mafia. There are no direct services from anywhere to anywhere, certainly not to the beaches!
They deliberately make you change buses in Margao, Panjim or Mapusa. There are no mini-buses connecting popular points. The airport and railway stations are off-track. The autos are not as common as in other states.

The reason for that is the fact that the local Goans do not use autorickshaws very much. Also, autorickshaws are useless for travelling long distances and the three main cities in Goa are 30 kms from each other.

There are non-stop buses every 15 minutes between big towns in Goa.
Take a bus from
vasco - Madgaon
Madgaon - Panjim

The bus doesn't start at the airport I believe, or maybe there is a stop there.
I needed to go to airport, so, took the Madgaon-Vasco Nonstop bus and the bus briefly stopped near the airport (had to hurriedly get down on the road itself!)

Hi all,

Thanks for your helpful replies.

I had no issues when I landed there and I changed buses.

My YHAI goa trek was great and will share the photos once I upload them.

Thanks

Did you get a bus from the airport itself. Where did it drop you?

I guess for going to Calangute from Airport, I need to go the crossing (towards vasco side) and after that take a bus to Panjim OR Mapusa. From there a bus to Calangute, does it sound correct ?
