Cheap stay near the beach in Goa !!
Hello all,
I am going to Goa with another 3 friend in this December. We are looking for a chap stay in Goa near any beach. By cheap stay I mean an arrangementto stay very close to the beach . 3-years before when I came to Goa with my friends, we just took a taxi from Mapusa to Calangute. The taxi driver took us to some near house there and we were able to stay just on their topfloor and that too very cheaply. I dont think we will be luck again. But I guess there are many houses that provide such stays, and for that matter, not just in Calangute, but on almost all beaches. Unfortunately the contact number of such people cannot be obtained by searching in google . I request you all to provide me with contact details of such people ( mobile phone umber would be great )Thankyou all once again. Ciao |

Hi, my friend and I just booked a room, during December, at the 'vanila guesthouse', on Anjuna beach. It can be found on all the booking sites like hostels.com - we are paying 300Rs a night each, and the place has had good reviews and is apparently "50m from the high tide line". They were quick to confirm. Good luck.

Thanks for suggestions friend. Let me try a luck with these.
Is there similar kind of accomodation arrangements near calanute or baga beach ? Or is it better to go to Anjuna beach than to Baga\Calangute beach? |

There are many cheap options in Mandrem. From the main road you turn left to Mandrem beach and just ask around.

I haven't been to Goa for 10 years, so don't really know up to date, but I preferred Anjuna then. I found Calangute to be much too touristy for me - and I should imagine that it's even more so now (and that Anjuna has probably caught up).

In Anjuna, the cheapest options are Villa Nova or Bean me up (both quite far from the beach).

Thank you for the info. I am traveling to Goa in Nov. I hope i can find some good cheap accomadation this time.
Long long ago.. when it was not so commercial.. what a amazing place it was... so beautiful, serene and lite on the pocket.. staying, excellent food and even beverages were so cheap.. all one did was enjoy and get lost in paradise.. now a days.. no matter how much you u avoid it.. the sword of expenses always hangs on your head while in Goa. |
