Smile charter flights for longstay visitors

The days of cheap charter flights have gone, how can we(hubby) and me,get to goa without paying exorbitant amounts.A few years ago you could book Dormerhouse (which never got used),now the travel agents and others have got wise, our quote this year is £666 each from Manchester,Nov-March.

Anyone know any cheaper prices??

Welcome our humble abode Harriet!

I usually fly on Emirates, and it's cheap considering it's from Heathrow... about 550 sterling for 6mth return, but you'd have to get across from Hyderabad - AP... long time on the train, or an internal flight... You'll get money off if you can blag being a student...

If U want to get internal flights (Jet or Indian Airlines) from Mumbai, I'm sure you can do better price-wise... just dont make the same mistake as me and go for syrian airlines (cheap 12 month rtn) ... a 4 hr stop at Damascus, another 1 hr (trapped on the plane!) in Abu-Dhabi, and I was just about ready to go back to london!

Good luck finding a good price, you're looking in the right place..

I’m sure you can get cheaper than that.

Try telephoning one of the following:

S.D.Enterprises

Jewel in the Crown

Or as Praveen says, you could go via Mumbai, good prices can normally be found at Trailfinders

hi H2,

both Jet and Indian Airlines have several daily flights from Mumbai to Goa for around $100US -- the first is at 6:30am. If you find an inexpensive flight to Mumbai (and many arrive in the middle of the night), then continuing on in the morning works pretty well just hanging out for a few hours at the domestic terminal or catching a few winks in a nearby hotel. You also have the option of pre-booking a Mumbai-Goa 3ac sleeper from home (this dpts at 22:50 and arrives at a convenient time in the am stopping at Pernem, Thivim, or Margao) for 1250rp. There are other options for advance rail booking discussed in a thread in the transportation section.

In roughly your situation, I've arrived Mumbai late, hung out at the airport and caught the morning flight. For return, I save some money by taking the train to Dadar or Lokmanya Tilak and a taxi from there to the airport allowing myself a couple of spare hours in case the train is a bit late.

Hi

Try Manos Holidays or the MyTravel group in UK
They have cheap flights to Goa and Trivandrum
One of my Friends came on the charter to Tvm last year for a two week holiday and was booked on dorm house for UKP 400 per person. He postphoned his return for a furthur two weeks. It cost him a furthur 150 UKP per seat
OR
maybe you could try arriving one way by schedule flight and returning by the charter. Returning by charter after arriving in India by a normal flight is now allowed , I believe .
I'm no sure whether you are aware of this Could send you a cutting from the Kerala Tourism Newsletter if needed
Cheers

Mumbai - Goa

Hi
We went from Glasgow with KLM via Amsterdam to Mumbai and the flew to Goa with Jet Airways an equal to any western airline

You can book tickets with Jet over the phone with Jet and their London office who I felt where very very helpful

The number is: + 44 208 9701525
The website is http://www.jetairways.com

We bought our KLM tickets from Trailfinders who where the cheapest we could find.

Anyway
Good luck and Enjoy

Or try AV8 travel - they are really helpful and can do good deals on direct Monarch flights - Tel 0870 990 8311. I just bought my new year flights from them.
