Charge for hold luggage on flight only..

I just booked a two week return flight only to Goa from Manchester ( UK ) for a good offer of £334, but little did I realise that the free 15 kg's of hold baggage has been done away with for people flying on a 'flight only', rather than those on a package holiday ( who still get their free hold luggage allowance ).

This was brought in on for bookings made after March 2nd, and seen as though my last 'flight only' to Goa was in February, it came as a shock to know that I'll be charged when checking my hold luggage in at the airport. The hand luggage allowance of 5kgs is still in force though. I only travel very light, so I've no idea how much extra I'll have to pay for something around the 12/13 kg range. Has anybody had to pay for their hold luggage at the airport or have you always paid the extra £30 when booking?

Does anybody know what the price per bag is at check in, please?

I honestly thought that the 15kg allowance was still applicable. Now I've found out that it isn't, I'm wondering whether it will be worth my while trying to pay the £35 hold baggage allowance before my departure in December.

Thanks in advance.

Thomas Cook, ribbu. I actually got through on the phone today ( miraculously ) and one of the customer support told me it's an extra £35 on top of the £334, so I'm still happy with the total fare for 2 weeks in December. If it would have been a package holiday ( which I don't do ) there would have been no extra cost for the hold luggage.

It's just I was a tad annoyed because the extra £35 for the 20 kg's of hold luggage was in small print when I filled out the form online, so when I initially paid the £334 I thought it was the total cost. This extra cost for hold luggage only came in for bookings after March 2nd, and the last time I was in Goa was in February this year, so this came as a big surprise to me. Ahh well, at least I've paid the total cost of £369, which is still about average for December. Thanks for the reply, ribbu, but my question has been resolved now.
