Cavelossim Beach Area in Goa
Haven't seen a post specifically asking this...so I'll create a new one.
Spending 4 nights in South Goa at Hotel Dona Sylvia in two weeks and I'm hoping that my fellow India Miker's might have some ideas of bars, restaurants, beach shacks, shopping, etc. that I should not miss near the Cavelossim area. Yeah I know it's fairly quiet down south...so I'm not expecting as much variety/action as in the North. But I figure I'd give it a shot and ask to get some opinions. Thanks much... VP |

Lots of nice restaurants in the area, each within, say, a five-minute walking distance of the DS. Try the Goan Village, they do wonderful beef or chicken Xacuti. Pogos for excellent chinese/continental. A must is the River View retaurants, down a small lane opposite the DS, it stands on the bank of the River Sal and part of the seating is on a pontoon out on the river. It really is a lovely spot and if you lunch there you will spot some wonderful birds, Kingfishers, Egrets, Sea Eagles, etc. Betty's Place and Fishermas Wharf are also popular.
Shacks ~ I can recommend Betty's Beach Shade, situated on the beach between the DS and Holiday Inn; also Doms and Sea Pearls. All this talk of food is making me hungry ~ seriously, the Xacuti at the Goan Village is wonderful. ![]() |

Thanks MadaboutIndia! I have posted my query on another thread here -
Suggestions Needed for my Itinerary But anyway, will post it here too. Will be great if you can suggest me. I have booked Dona Sylvia between 5th to 8th Dec for my honeymoon.Am looking for suggestions as in how to make this trip more exciting for both of us.Would love to have suggestions from GoanCanuck! I intend to have a adventure+ relaxation trip.Have been to Goa few times before so not much interested in travelling a lot and going for a beach crawl. I will hire a bike , so that commuting wont be a problem. My queries - 1> Any nice discos/rave parties near cavelossim beach ? Which one you will suggest.Wont mind a high-end one either. 2> Where/How can i get the best bikes available in Goa? which are the models available? 3> How much time it takes approximately on a Bike to reach - a> Panjim b> Calangute beach c> Palolem beach from Cavelossim? Any other suggestions, especially wild and crazy ones to make this trip memorable are welcome! Cheers, Rohit |
