Cash Machine in Palolem?

Hi there,

Can someone tell me where the nearest cash machine is to Palolem Beach? Is it Margo? If so how far is that away. Someone has mentioned there is a money machine right on the beach but I don't remember there being one 2 years ago unless it has changed.

There is no machine on the beach. The ATM is located at the bank which is a short walk away. As far as I know that is the only ATM in that area.

There is no ATM in Palolem. But (alway the 'but in India) almoste every travel agent can use your credit card and pay you in chash... It is quite the same... No??

Nearest ATM is still in Chaudi.

Not the same at all. You don't pay any interest when you withdraw money using your ATM card but you do pay very high rates of interest when you take a cash advance on your credit card. Cash advances do not have any grace period.

that's right, the nearest cash ATM machine is in Chaudi (should be at the Bank of India branch) in the main road, about 300 mt after the bus stand coming from Palolem. Goping there by tuk tuk it will cost around 30 rupies.

But you don't have to use VISA CREDIT: last year I used my debit card to get cash, you don't pay any interest on that. It's just like buying money. The agent will usually charge you a commision but if you compare it to the withdrawal fee that your bank will charge for using your card overseas, it comes up even.
