Candolim March 2010

Hello all this is my first post so please be gentle!

My Girlfriend and myself will be going to Candolim next march.

Any tips, please?

Its our first visit to India, really looking forward to it, but trying to do some homework over the next few months so our holiday can be good as possible.

We shall be getting a taxi to the airport approx how much shall we expect to pay?

Our holiday is covered by Thomas cook, shall we book our excursions with the rep (Probably not)

What excursions should we do? we are there 2 weeks.

Anyway thanks for your help.

Candolim is pretty built up. If your looking to chill out I would look for someother beach. If you want jetskis and parasailing then Candolim is for you.

Hi first welcome to India mike
OK march is hot so an a/c room would be nice
As soon as you leave the airport right opposite the exit there's a pre-paid taxi service which will cost around £10 or if you change 700rps
It is a must to spend 2 nights south in a beach hut with your girlfriend Agonda, palolem , ect ect just spend a little time and web search the area but it is sure bliss. Never to a taxi driver say its your first time in goa as they will have your pants down for the first night have a few words with the locals and they will tell you the going rate for places which might interest you also don't forget the local buses can take you to and from north and south I.e candolim to Palolem would be around
40rps each instead of a 1400rp taxi fare
anything else you need to know just ask its a great site

Thanks for the welcome from you all!

We are staying at the Highland beach (Any good)?

Did a little homework, had some good write ups & not many bad ones.

Really looking forward to it, been thinking of going for a long time & finally booked it!
