Camping on the beach...
Namaste!
Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the laws surrounding camping on beaches in Goa/India in general? In England you can get away with it but it is illegal (they call it wild camping) and I've had a few instances where I've been sent packing by the police at about 4am. I'm avoiding the north (too hectic for me) and keeping to the Agonda/Palolem area. Do you think I'd get any hassle if I roughed it for a few nights somewhere quiet like Agonda, Patnem, Talpona? Any advice regarding small fires would be useful aswell. Thanks a lot. P.S. I'm a considerate camper, I always try to leave and area in exactly the same state that I arrived (if not cleaner) and take care to ensure fires are totally out before I move off. |

The legalities and regulations aside that I don't know about, there's the unwanted attention factor to strongly consider. Former moderator and biker -m2- left some of his experiences here for instance (possibly on other posts of his too): Camping
