| Senior Member | Calling costs to U.K. & U.S.A. hey i would like to know how much does it cost to call the U.K. and the United States. i went to an ISD booth in Mumbai recently and he charged me a whopping Rs.16 per minute. i thought it had reduced to some Rs.8-9 per minute to call any of these 2 countries. anybody knows? |

| Calls to UK were RS7.20 a minute last time I was over. Some STD/ISD owners do make up their rates. My friend went to a PCO on NH8 in Delhi (where all the cheap hotels are) and was charged an extrotionate rate to make a call to Haryana. |

| the authorized ISD/STD booth are required to display the meters (like Taxi). If they do not, don't use them. |

| There's a chart, and IIRC, the meters are regulated and licensed. So, when you dial +1-416-555-5555, the meter will automatically charge you the regulated rate for dialing country code 1. No meter no business . |
