You kindly helped me with many of my questions back in June.

Madgaon is the station to get off, but it's a long way (maybe 35kms) from Morjim Beach.

If your train gets to Madgaon on time, you can get train 2052, departing Madgaon at 14:20 and getting to Thivim at 15:02, from Thivim you can get a pre-paid taxi to Morjim.

If your train is late....

Train 0112 departs Madgaon at 18:00 and gets to Thivim at 18:50, and Pernem (would be the best station) at 19:02.

(train 2052 doesn't call at Pernam)

The following maps are the best online maps of Goa.

Calcutta - Goa

How much might a taxi cost from Madgaon to Morjim?
I can't see 'Madgaon' on any map...would it be the same as 'Margao'?
How far is the airport to Morjim?

The distance from the airport to Morjim is about the same as from Madgaon (Margao) to Morjim, you have to come a distance up the river (from the airport) to cross the river.

If you can get a taxi for less than Rs1000, you'll do well, all normal rules go out of the window when you get to Goa, and as you're going close to the Xmas/new year period, you're about to have your braking point severely tested, but on the bright side, you'll be kissing the Calcutta Taxi drivers when you get back there.

Morjim is about 56km from Margao as well as Vasco. If you are going to take a taxi, then I will advise you to get down at Vasco due to the fact that there are more taxis available at the Vasco rail terminus. The other advantage of getting down at Vasco is that the bus station is opposite the railway station. In Margao the main bus station is very far from the railway station.

Excuse me, but the above answers may not be correct! Madgaon is in the south and Morjim is north.

Maybe I'm wrong because of your train 2024 does'nt stop in north Goa. Steven Ber seems to be the MAN when it comes to train info here, so I believe him.......

But if it stops in the north of Goa, you want either Pernem, Thivim or Karmali stations, which are much closer.

The train in question does not operate on the Konkan railway track which runs from the North of Goa to the South. This train operates on the old track which runs East-West across Goa. As a result this train does not enter Pernem or Thivim.

Wow, I guess I was looking at the wrong map.(johnthemap)

I went to Vasko a few years ago and had a few games of pool with some locals, it seemed like a good idea at the time, Vasko looked a mess though and I left a few hours later.

Yeah Vasco is a blue collar town with very few tourists visiting. The funny thing is that the richest people in Goa live here as well as the poorest.

That is a good map. I am just curious the map shows a ferry plying between Dona Paula and Mormagao. Is it still operating? That would suit our needs the best. Please reply.
