Briton dies in Khola mishap

HERALD CORRESPONDENT
CANACONA, DEC 19 — A 38-year-old British national died when the cycle he was riding accidentally fell into a roadside ditch at Molorem-Khola, Canacona on Saturday night.
According to Canacona police, Michael Jude Anthony O’Donell had gone on a sightseeing trip to Molorem along with fellow British friend, Karl Samuel Ellison, on separate cycles.
Karl, who was riding in the front, lost sight of his friend and turned back, when he was shocked to find his friend seriously injured and struggling for life at the roadside ditch.

3,000 Britons die in road accidents in the UK every year without making into the news. One dies in a road accident in India and it is news?

Sympathyto friends and family, of course....

Well true, it is a freakish accident --- must have been a very deep ditch to suffer such injuries.

Actually it is not freakish at all. If a person on a bicycle goes over a big pothole or some stone lying on the road it is very easy to lose your balance and fall off the bicycle and hit your head on one of the rocks which are found on the edge of the roads in India.
