Hi, you've been to India before right? Finding a bookstore is generally never a problem, going through their stocks is a bookworm's delight (esp. since they tend to have no order whatsoever, alphabetical nor thematical nor...
Take the afternoon off! Many classics + modern titles are sold in Indian print for ridiculously low prices.) Wherever there are tourists you're bound to find some bookswap kind of deal, either in a bookstore or a restaurant or...Have fun! You're aware of http://www.bookcrossing.com/ ? Nice concept.

I always use Nicki's Book Shop on the CSM Road in Baga. He buys them back at half price. Always pleasant to spend time on his porch talking about life and everything that goes with it.

Manali Guest House in Anjuna has a new book section upstairs and an exchange section below. Also, there is Rainbow bookshop in Vagator - decent shop and owner.

One thing I can't manage without on holiday are BOOKS!! Can easily get through 3 or 4 a week. Trying to get away with carry on luggage only to avoid airport chaos, (5 measily kilos with Monarch) so will need to buy.
Any good book shops in Palolem / Patnem area? And what sort of prices is "ridiculously low" ? |
