Best beach in Goa

Hi everyone,
I am coming to Goa in a few days time and just wondered which is the best beach? I want to find a paradise with white sand and clear waters.
I am staying in Candolim.

Thanks for any replies

Hi Sessy,

I've just arrived from Palolem (first we were visiting almost all the temples in Karnataka) and for me is the best beach in Goa.

Depends on what you mean by "best beach". Here is a list:

1) Best beaches for swimming-----------Benaulim, Sernabatim, Palolem

2) Best beaches for nightlife------------Baga, Vagator

3) Best beaches for privacy-------------Asvem, Morjim, Talpona

4) Worst beach for swimming-------------Calangute

5) Worst beach for holidaying-------------Calangute, Colva, Baga

def. stay away from Baga and Calangute! Unless you want a resort scene with 1000's of beach chairs and tons of hassle. I visited Palolem, Arambol, and Anjuna (and Baga and Calangute for 1 hour!). Palolem was my fav., I thought it had the right mix of resort, touristy stuff. If you want nice quiet deserted beach, this is not it, as there is always something going on. If you do want quieter and more layed back, just walk 10 minutes do Patnem beach.
Have fun!

Theres also a saturday night market at Arpura, situated about 3miles along the road from Calangute , direction anjuna, all tourist taxi drivers know it.
