Beaches in north Goa with less undercurrents

Most beaches in Goa seem to have pretty strong undercurrents. Are there any beaches in north that have weaker undercurrents?

diplomacy, have added "Goa" to your title, even though it is in the Goa forum. Thought it would be clearer for other folk

Theres plenty of threads on IM about the numourous drownings every year, and after witnessing one I can only say:

If you must go in the ocean Don't go out any further than where its deep enough to be able to bob down to get your shoulders under eg waist high max,,,,,,,,,,,

None that I know of. If you are not an above average swimmer, don't take any chances.

Not in the North but I know you're heading to Palolem. The north end of the beach is very shallow out to a distance of about 20-30 meters, much of that little more than knee deep. The island shelters this area from most of the waves as well, so really quite safe for mum dad and the kids!!

This may be a bit off topic, but what kinda swell does Goa see? Anything chest/head high or over head? I hear Kovalam goes off.
