beach resort
beach resort
Hi All, We are traveling in the north for 3 weeks, and looking forward to relaxing on a white sandy beach with nice snorkeling at the end of our trip. Can anyone suggest a resort. I'm told Goa is very commercial and we want something quieter. Is there anything further south, not as commercial?
All thoughts appreciated.
thx

Actually mainland India isn't that good for snorkeling. The Laccadives or the Andaman islands are a good bet. The former is quite expensive..

Havelock Islands in Andamans will be your best bet.
Perfect for Snorkelling & Scuba Diving. Crowds are also less here.
All types of accomodation options available here from budget to luxurious.

Just returned from Kerala; one night on backwaters, excellent experience. Also3 nights at Marari Beach Resort in Kerala, great location, food, beach, sea was a bit rough, no crowds, no tv, great accomodations.

Hi, I and my girlfriend are planning to spend 3 days at some beach in India, Gujarat or Goa, in the end of April. What would you suggest? Some specific places, beaches, hotels? Is Goa really better than other Northern beaches? (My budget is medium.)
Thanks!
Thanks!

Reason: adding details
I think Kerala is farther and thus travelling there would be more expensive. I am hesitating even about Goa, and was thinking of Gujarat beaches, for this same reason - Economy of time and money. However, I thought Goa is not big and don't really understand what you mean by South Goa or North Goa...?
Thanks for feedback!

if it is just beaches ... look no further than goa.
If you can afford more, can go to the islands lakshadweep/andaman.
Kerala has a good overall experience (if you can spend longer time like 5-6 days ... beaches (kovalam, varkala), backwaters, forests, tea estates, temples, churches ...

I c... I'll just probably give up Goa this time... and concentrate on historical part of the trip (Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, + maybe Jodhpur and Jaisalmer). The trip to Goa appears to be either very lengthy (by train) or too expensive (by plane)...
