Bangalore - Goa Travel
I would be visiting Goa in the month end from 26th Sep - 29th Sep 08. Due to my schedule I wont be able to avail train service for both to & fro journey.
So, I have booked the return journey on train on 29th & decided to take bus for my onward journey. I have yet to book my onward journey by a volvo since there is no train to Goa from Bangalore on 25th Sep (thursday). Now since this will be the first time I will be traveling such long distance by bus and with my 3.5 yrs old daughter I am not able to choose the better service provider. I have shortlisted the following operators of volvo buses to Goa from bangalore 1. Paulo - heard this is a best but have read some really bad reviews of the same. The bus condition & all is not good. 2. KSRTC - Govt & hence should be good. (my best bet as of now) 3. Sea Bird - Have no idea about them. Not sure which one of the above has better condition buses. My bet is KSRTC should have the best. Another thing that is confusing me is should I opt for the sleeper or the seated accommodation. Since KSRTC doesnt have a sleeper volvo on that route I am not able to finalize if I should opt for sleeper in either Paulo/Sea Bird or go for seats in KSRTC. Heard sleepers are too cramped & wont be good. Please help me choose a better bus service. Any comments/experiences with the above bus operator or any other better service are really welcome. Thanks in advance |

Unfortunately, I don't think you can be sure of what kind of bus you are getting, unless you take a personal look at it. I got a "sleeper" ticket in a volvo bus from Goa to Bangalore during peak season. when I finally got in, the sleeper would hardly accomodate a child. And make sure you get a seat number. Tickets are oversold and many of the passengers had to sit in the passage way and up front with the ddriver.
