Hey all this is my first post, but hopefully not my last. I am planning to visit India during august for aprox 1 month based in Delhi. and would like to visit goa to see the sights and to party a bit. Is this a good idea as its in the middle of the rainy seanson? If not could anyone suggest any other similar (party places maybe slightly hippyish but also with things to see?) places to go? i would be very greatful for any help great or small thank you!!

Visiting Goa in Monsoons has some benefits also. Goa will be lush green during this time & if you enjoy greenery it's the place to be in Monsoons. You can also visit Dudhsagar waterfalls, which will be at it's best during this time, but it involves a trekking. Also you will get accomodation at heavily discounted rates, although no shacks would be operating at this time but you can still visit beaches.
In Goa when it rains it rains heavily. I visit Goa very regularly for my business. Two years back I was in Goa in the month of July & there was no sun shine for all the four days I stayed there. It was continously raining. Worth experiencing I would suggest. Ronak.
