Question Artmaterials in Goa

Do you find all these artist materials, like brushes, canvas and other paintingbases, acrylics, oilcolours, turpentine, gesso and spatulas from stores in Goa? Do you know to name any? Especially in the North.
And I mean real artist quality materials, not kindergarden materials.

How about the framing, there are frame-workers, right?

Would all these materials cost a little/much less there than in the euroarea?

Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Art supplies are not easily available in Goa. You will have to procure them in Mumbai or Delhi or Bangalore. Better to buy them in Europe. Frame workers in Goa are not very competent, quite useless in fact.

Well, that's a sad news.

I wonder if it's possible like to order those materials by post in Goa then,
and how do all the local artists there survive without them?

How about photography in Goa then

Can you get big prints of your photos, like 20x30cm and bigger,
have them primed and laminated?

Its best to ask a local artist where their got their supplies. There always somewhere in a small nook of goa where you could get the supplies its all about asking the right person in india .

Send a message via MSN to kokopelli
20x30 you might get but for bigger and better you have to go to Bangalore or elsewhere. But, you can also send films+cash by mail to a proffesional lab in Bangalore and they send it back printed in a roll. it works, we did it.
let me know if you want details from that lab..

for art supplies, it's best to send a small package with bottles and tubes from home to goa. post restante and pickup when there ? or just take with you.. you have 20-30kg on the plane where you only need 5kg for your make-ups and undies.. ?

easy..

Hi IMartists

Just thought to tell you that there's a very good place for artmaterials in Goa, Panjim, so no need to bring your own stuff of go to Bangalore/Mumbai.
Just check Art Shoppe (bit hard to find, but ask your way and you'll find it. near Municipal Garden).
