Arambol, Goa - Guesthouses

Can anyone help me out with some contact details for budget-mid price range accommodation in Arambol please?

I've heard of Ivons, God's Gift, Om Ganesh, Priya and Villa Pedro. I've seen the God's Gift review on IM and it looks fine, has anyone stayed here recently? I'm struggling to find any relevant information by Googling these places.

I could really do with websites/email addresses for a few places as I'm not in a position to call India from the UK (I'm at work and only have a mobile - too expensive!).

My main requirements are that a 'Western' toilet be available and that the place isn't really noisy. Also, I'd need the place we stay to act as a 'referee' on my Visa application - is it common practice to just put the hotel name down, or do I ask permission?

Any advice/information greatly appreciated.

You can put the name of the guesthouse on your application. You don't have to ask them. No need for a reservation, the guesthouses in Arambol generally don't accept reservations.

Do you have contact details of a few good guest houses in Arambol.

Hi,
My wife and i have stayed at Gods gift guest house the last two times we have visited Arambol(real name is Harmal).Gods Gift is in a really quiet location and really near to the beach.
Ruby and Constancio,the owners are really accomodating and helpful.. The other guests at Gods Gift have been good enough types with no evidence of `nutters´that seem to be concentrated at the village centre..Be assured that even the nutters are good enough sorts of people,just very stoned..
Gods gift is at south Arambol beach right next door to Ivons guest house.

Accomodation supply outstrips demand in Goa for much of the year (except the Xmas-New Year week). It might be a good idea to just choose your destination (broadly on the profile of tourism you're looking for) and then walk in and check the places you fancy. An on-the-spot booking is easy to do... you could negotiate too. But don't bargain too hard, specially if the money is going into the pockets of some barefoot entrepreneurs (who are usually working hard for it). FN
