Anyone in Goa mid september?

Hi everyone,
I'm going to be going over to Goa mid spetember and plan to stay for about 4 months working as a volunteer with children walking tall. I just wondered if anyone else was going to be over volunteering at that time and also where's the best place to be based? I'm just in the early stages of my research and never been to India before so any comments/suggestions would be much appreciated!

I am also planning to be there in mid July and stay there for few months.So, surely we can meet.
One more thing, as you mentioned that you will be working there as volunteer , so, let me know if we can join this cause too.I seriously would like to give some time.
Our base still has not been finalized but we hope it will be soon.

In case others want to volunteer, International Animal Rescue (see: http://www.iar.org.uk/media/publicat...-volunteer.pdf ) and GSPCA are always looking for volunteers as well.

my advice to you girl is that unless you want to be pestered by indians, that you dont advertise the fact that you are coming over and when ......only reply to those who might live in goa like me and my wife (londoners - Streatham), cos we lived in candolim 6 years and retired

this is quite a dangerous place if ya dont know the score - just type scarlett keeling or russian girl murder in goa in google.......................

Although the advice is more or less sound (expect that not only Indians can pester but foreigners as well), it is surprising that it comes from somebody who never posted before on India Mike and somebody who does not give details in his profile.

GoodOldHary, please don't take this the wrong way, you are probably an all right guy, meaning well, etc. but if I were the London Lass (or any other girl) I would be still wary.

Like anywhere else, meet people you do not know only in public, busy places, don't go overboard on alcohol and drugs and keep vigilant at all times!
