Alidia Beach Cottage
Hi all,
We will be staying at Alidia Beach Cottages. I have seen the reviews here on tripadvisor, very positive. I was just wondering, we will be staying in the non-AC ground floor rooms in January. Are these just as good as the other rooms? I have been to Goa in January before, and the nights were relatively cool and breezy, so I figured A/C wasn't needed. But I just want to make sure these rooms are as clean/comfy as the other ones. Thanks, akhenaton |

Don't know if you're referring to the ground floor rooms in the new block which came up sometime last year, next to the pool. I stayed in one of them early this year and, frankly, I prefer the AC rooms in the old block (the one that has the kitchen on the ground floor) even if they are smaller.
The new rooms had just been built when I was there and the lighting in them wasn't up to much. Same with the bathrooms. But maybe they've improved those by now. In January this year I didn't need airconditioning, but in October 2005, when I stayed in the old block, the AC was good to have (though not essential - the fans are good). What the new rooms have going for them is that they're fairly large, and they also have nice little sitouts. But, like I said, the extremely dim lighting put me off them. And they cost a fair bit more as well. |

ok, i will ask them which block i am in...yes, we'll be there during new year time, so i don't think AC is really needed either...so i guess from your post that there is really no difference in cleanliness between the old and new block?

I didn't really notice any difference between the two either way. (The dingy lighting may have played its part there
)Now that I think of it, since the new rooms face out towards the beach, there tends to be a little bit of sand on the floor when you come back in at night. Wasn't a big deal, but you may want to keep that in mind. |

Try calling 91-0832-2276835. Maybe you need to drop that '0' when you're calling from outside India - not sure.
