Call the Air Deccan call-centre 2-3 hours in advance to check if there are any delays. Even if there are no "scheduled" delays, expect some delay. But don't worry, just think: I am flying budget.

Bring a bottle of water or buy one for 10 rs on the plane.

Bring a book or magazine. Reading the Air Deccan in-flight magazine over and over gets boring. And don't expect inflight entertainment (other than watching people run out of the bus for a "good" seat)

If you feel like running for a window seat, then run. But why? It's just a one hour flight anyway.

Know that if you have more than 15kgs of luggage you will have to pay extra.

Keep in mind that there is no reserved seating on board the aircraft, it operates on a first come first served basis. If your flight is cancelled you have to make your own hotel arrangements. Air deccan charges you little and provides you little.

We flew from Mumbai to Goa with Air Deccan last year and had no delays or problems.

Guess it's the luck of the draw but for the price you pay it would be criminal to complain!.....best of luck.

I have the same experience of Deccan, some delays are to be expected, no frills on board you pay for everything you buy and no pre-declared seating arrangements, making it free for all. But then they generally offer good fare, so i do not complain.

thanks for the tips, especially useful as we will be travelling with two young kids, Decided to go for Deccan because they had a very early morning flight from Goa, where as Spice jet, with whom we fly back to Goa, only had flights mid - afternoon.

anyidea what they are like, and anyone know of any good hotels in Colaba region of Mumbai undrr Ģ50 per night?

We flew twice with AD a year ago. No problem with our Bombay-Bangalore flight but the flight from Goa to Bombay was 1 hour late.

But I really canīt complain... not with that kind of prizes. Just have to remember to be prepared and not book a connection flight thatīs TOO close to your Deccanīs arrival
