Accomodations
I'm looking for mid budget hotels in Goa in July- Aug. Must have CLEAN bathrooms and a basic degree of comfort.
Any suggestions? |

As for Panaji, friends have stayed at the Panjim Inn in the old part of the city and think highly of it, but I haven't stayed there myself. According to the 2001 South India LP "....by far the most charming place to stay in mid-range. It's a beautiful 300-year old mansion with a large 1st-floor veranda and leafy garden. All rooms have four-poster beds and colonial furniture. High-season rates are Rp720-990. Ask to see a few rooms as they are all different. Across the road, Panjim Posada is under the same management and is also a comfortable, well-furnished place. The rooms here, from Rp 675-900 are perhaps even more pleasant than in the main hotel." The Hotel Venite (which is a character-laden restaurant rather than a hotel) is a few blocks down the same street (31st January Rd) towards the river. Reservations probably not necessary July-August unless there is something special happening.
Ekta: Do you have some place or something in mind? If you are interested in Goan beaches, this is really not the season and I doubt you'd get much swimming in unless you choose a place with a swimming pool. Since you are from Mumbai, you must realize that 'mid-budget' is really a meaningless term -- could mean 300rp or $50USD. |

if you dont mind 1500 bucks off season then laguna anjuna at anjuna is good...slightly laidback service, but the chef makes up for it...great pool...they have a website somewhere...been there and it was nice...friendly owner...even offered lobster gratis to a pal who stayed for a couple of nights!

Please check out the Miramar Residency, Panaji Residency, Calngute Residency or Colva Residency. They are offered by GTDC.
We can book them for you. The rates would be within 850/-. You may also be interested in a package of 3 nights and 4 days including all food except dinner in AC rooms at the above GTDC resorts for a mere 5300/- per couple. If interested mail us at avkaash@vsnl.net
