Accomodation in Goa
We are a group of 20 people planning on visiting Goa for around 3 days in the last week of September. Can someone please suggest good accomodation around the Calungute or Baga area.
Both AC and non AC can be suggested. Is it possible for us to rent a house instead of a hotel or resort. If so what will be the rent per day? Thanks! Last edited by machadinha : Dec 10th, 2006 at 23:50. Reason: moved to goa forum |

Colonia Santa Maria - between Calangute/Baga
Ronil Resort - Baga Melodius Waves - Candolim Santana - Candolim It depends a bit on your budget as well though. I used a great agent to find an apartment. I don't remember their name off-hand, but I'll get back to you when I find out. |

Goa for January/February
Hi Suggestions please. Husband and I, (profession, quiet, mid fifties, not lottery winners,)are going to Goa from Mid Jan. to end of February we need accomodation. Preferrably one/two bed house. This need not be town centre but on transport route. Apartment ok with lift if above second floor. We are Scottish but live in Turkey. If we like Goa may move here or buy winter home. Thanks

Euanlee, I hope you have read the thread in the Goa section of this forum about buying property. Foreign citizens are forbidden from purchasing apartments/houses/land while visiting India on a tourist visa. |

Thanks Goancanuck I do know that I cannot buy while I am there. I believe we have to live there for several months or form a company to buy but now will be our first visit to Goa and then next year we will see what transpires from this fact finding visit. Still need accommodation to rent for six weeks though any ideas? Mid Jan to End February. Thanks for your advise and help. Euanlee

The "form a company" route is closed. You will not get more than a tourist visa.

There are several apartments available for rent. Just stay in a hotel for a few days and have a look at the various places available and then you can rent the apartment for the remainder of your stay. The form a company route to buy property is no longer allowed by the government although many real estate agents/touts will advise you to form a company. Stay away from these guys if you value your money. |

Hi there,
Euanlee just asked the very question I wanted to ask, too. We are a European couple living in Scotland, oddly enough, and we are pretty keen to rent an apartment or cottage somewhere in Goa during the period Janurary/February. We've got no intention of buying a place there! We'd be keen to find a place not right in the middle of the party scene but on some sort of transportation route. If anyone has any further ideas on this - such as contact details for a property agent, say - we'd be very grateful. Or is our best bet just to turn up in Goa, take a hotel for a couple of nights and look around? Thanks very much for any help you can give us! Annie & Jason |

Jan/Feb is quieter. You should be OK to turn up and find some good accommodation.

Thanks very much for that! This is comforting to hear. Has anyone on the forum taken this route? How did you find it?

Palolem Beach Huts
Morning everybody, first time logging on so my apologies if I am butting in but I was wondering if anybody has stayed at the Chattai Huts at the Southern end of Palolem beach and what they are like? The web site looks good but 1st hand experience would be helpfull. Also I will be there for Xmas Eve and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for where to go? The Chattai huts are having a BBQ/ drinks etc but where is the best shack to possibly visit??
Thanks again for any help |
