Accomodation Help!
Dear All,
Arrived in Goa in a stinking mood which was not conducive to being told by the place they we wanted to stay (Panjin Hotel) that only their most expensive room was available when the day before they told me that there was no need to book as I could have my pick - had a rare hissy fit (the taxi drive was not conducive to inner serenity) and stormed out only to find myself in a bit of a dive (Affonso or Alphonso depending on the sign you're looking at). The evil one who presides wants me out by 9am and I am disorientated (as always) from being a new arrival. I need some quick advice on a great old charming cheap cheerful place that I can take my sorry body to in the morning. All responses greatly appreciated. Also, the latest on the most laid back beaches in Goa would be appreciated. Many thanks, Matt |

Try 'Simon Cottages' in Benaulim. You'll want a bus to Margao and then a short bus ride to the Maria Hall bus stop in Benaulim.
Nice , quiet place - 3 years ago ther were 6 doubles with shower for 250rs. I think she was planning an extension to the roof for 2 more rooms. |
