50th Birthday Goa!!

Hi..my husband will be turning 50 at the end of September...so i am thinking about surprising him with 10 days in Goa and a week in Amsterdam!!

Any recco's on something cool to do for a birthday party?? We have been to Goa twice before..and have friends there whom i will invite to the party...but would just like some ideas...

Also...would like a few days away from Goa, something spiritual...Any ideas??

Sorry if i am being brief..but i appreciate any suggestions.

Are there housboats around Goa that are any good?? or some overnight excursions that are recommended?? Thinking maybe Hampi for a few days.

There are two houseboats in Siolim, North Goa.. (tar), have never been inside, but looks nice from outside.

Tracy, i dont know your taste.. this is what i did for my anniv.
Booked at Taj Aguada resort, and had a all night dinner on the private beach (costs about 5000 INR + menu charges). trust me, its worth every penny..

Hampi is lovely and sep is a great time to visit.. you could stop at Hospet and drive to hampi..

For something 'spiritual' (whatever you like) Hampi (including beautiful landscape)and/or Gokarna (holy city and great beaches (best of both worlds)
I read something about houseboats on the backwaters of Tarkali (in Maharastra, north of Goa)
