| 3 weeks in India - including 1 week in Goa in August! Hi All, I was hoping for a bit of advice. My OH is dead-set on going to Goa during our trip to India later this year. I've slotted it in for the week from 22nd August. Then, down to Kerala for 4 days from 30th August. I know that this is monsoon season, can people please give me a realistic idea of the weather during this week? I've read all of past posts on the subject. It appears last year, the weather was good, only raining in the evening, which is fine. However, some people have commented that it's just completely pointless to go there then as everything is shut. I am planing to spend 14th - 21st August in Delhi and Udaipur, which will be a lot better, weatherwise. If Goa is dreadful would it be better to escape earlier to Kerala, or will the weather be just as bad there? What about further inland from Goa? Thanks for your help, Laura |

| Laura, It really depends what you want out of Goa and which part of Goa you chose to go to! Goa isn't the dot on the map that you see its a Vibrant and fairly large area. First decide what part of Goa you want to base yourselves in, and what you want to do. Then perhaps you could get a better picture of what you will get out of it? |

The advice about everything being shut is also pretty accurate. Although Goa is famous for it's beaches, it does have inland attractions, in spite of what the previous poster had to say, and some of these would be good at that time of year. However, they are not unmissable, and personally I would advise you to have more time in Kerala or try the Pondicherry area below Chennai? | ||

| KOOL GUY! | hi laura, well its perfect time to visit in goa at the end of august , rains will be less , well rains in goa are wonderfull youl definately like. gusty winds will be less but you never know it might rain can predict about that much. but still u can enjoy in goa as it will be nice cozy weather here in goa, there some good places in goa in north as well as in south to enjoy by the sea, but north i will prefer for you if you looking for partyeing around and easily accessible throught out the year. beach side is preferable as it is always alive in goa through out the year, you wont find shack , no water sports during this time, it will kick off in end september , as the sea is vry rough, no swimming unless u vry good swimmer. also u can spend ur two days in shyadri ranges if you love adventureous trip in junlges , with infinit pool to chill out, cozy place in the mountains with good food and dringk and lovely cottages in the hills. if you need any info i can suggest you. thanks and welcome to goa.
