Unhappy 1975-76 in Goa... Help me find my father

Hi...
I would like to speak with anybody who might be able to help find my father who was last seen by my mother in 1976 when she moved back to New Zealand from Hippyville. He was well knowin in Anjuna, Goa and had lived for some time and everyone in the hood knew him as Dale. He used to spend time at Nelson and Melba's Chia shop and had another lover with my mum whose name was Lilliana Micolta. Dale was 6'9inches tal so nearly 7ft tall and was quite skinny. He was 41 years old in 1976 so he may not be alive but I have half brothers and sisters out there and my curiousity wont let me sleep...yet! Anyone wishing to help can email me and I can send the full info and some pics of my mum and other people around at those times. Please help the only thing that could possibly fulfil my life...

There are a couple of members on India Mike who spent time in Anjuna in the mid-70's and they may be able to help you. You say
that you have half brothers and sisters? In Goa?

If I were you I would try contacting David Tomory ( might be best done through his publisher which I believe is Lonely Planet) who interviewed many people from that era while writing his excellent book: Hello Goodnight - A life of Goa. He may well be able to give you some leads/contacts on living people with good memories of that era and setting!

Best of luck in your search for your Dad!

[1975-76 in Goa.....Help me find my father ]

hi,

I'm just wondering?? Is it that importen for you to find your dad. And what if you will find him? And what if you won't? How is your mother thinking about it?

I'm an adopted child from India. Was living in Europe and had all these question too.. But for me it was not Worth to look for people that are strangers for me..

I hope it will not control your life that much.. India is a beautiful country and it would be a pitty if you would not see that because of your search..

But anyway.. I'm working in Goa at the moment. And if you need some help, a guide or something else.. don't hesitate and send a mail...

peace love, rock and roll is the best way to step in you parents steps..

GOOD LUCK!

Try the Genealogy sites, they are a wealth in these matters
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=genealogy

Try social networking sites and search through name, known name, last name etc. Sites like hi5, orkut, myspace, msn space, etc.

Try the hippy sites and forums, a lot of them have goa links though not many old timers are found, for sure you would get some links.

Internet is powerful, for sure you can do as much homework and get references in Goa, so that you can follow up when you head back.

King - what if his father loves him like mad? One would neve know the circumstances and beyond in which they had to leave their child. Never underestimate the power of blood relation. For sure, I hope he finds his father and spend as much as they can toghether in the future.

the best thing that ever happened to me was when My son found me. granted he was 12, not an adult, but it totally improved both our lives.
GO FOR IT!

THE KING---- its so hard to explain, why its so important to me.. Iv now got 2 small daughters and theres just a part of me that longs to no something about him, or even a pic of him... But i know what you mean about controling a persons life, i just think it would enrich mine...

Everyone is different in this respect. As far as I'm concerned, the people who adopted and brought me up from infancy were my parents: the couple who conceived and gave birth to me just did the biological stuff. Nurture more important than nature.

But that doesn't mean I haven't had attacks of curiosity; but not enough to set about tracing anybody.

I do agree with you Nick to a point and beleive me my mother did a great job, but i never had a father at all... never called any1 dad, so i feel im not standing on any1s feet, maybe if i had an adopted father i wouldnt feel so strong... Id be happy even with a pic of him (or confirmation) He would be in his seventies now...and quite possibley not alive, but I also know i have a brother and a sister out there... I think its purely for enrichment in my life not replacing something iv never had...
Thanks
